About
After graduating in History and defend his dissertation about Roman settlement and population in the province of Segovia, in Complutense University of Madrid, Pablo Guerra García (p.guerra@alumnos.upm.es) has developed his career in the field of Preventive Archaeology. His specialty in this professional field is the study of historical building materials from antiquity to modernity, making comprehensive studies of construction phases, reading faces or description of construction techniques. This phase of research impact on the restoration of buildings or the consolidation of archaeological as well as improving knowledge of Architectural Heritage.
At the same time is developing the thesis at Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura at Polytechnic University of Madrid and linked to the PhD Master Restoration of Architectural Heritage. His research is applied to Roman mortars, chemical and physical characterization, their reaction to external agents and their application to the field of Restoration. Actually he is developing numerous chemical tests (X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy and scanning electron) and physical tests (capillary absorption, porosity, hydrostatic weighing) in Roman mortars from Spain.
